Representative images of experimental tanks containing the two species, Myriophyllum spicatum and Ceratophyllum demersum, after five days of continuous exposure to different salinity levels (0, 1.5, 2.5, 5, and 10 ppt). C. demersum plants exposed to 10 ppt salinity kept their leaves closed even when exposed to light; at 5 ppt leaves remained partially closed.
