An example of the application of an electrified trawl in a very mineralised, temperate environment.
Abstract
A trawl of small size (mouth 80 cm) was used in a lake of 30 hectares to sample crayfish and fish. The rectified current, controlled by a thyristor, is part of a sine wave with a voltage having a peak lower or equal to 110 volts. The electrification greatly improves the efficiency of the trawl. This non-selective technique gives a good picture of the populations that are sampled.
