Résumé

Le cycle vital de Pachyleuctra benlocchi (Navas) dure 4 ans dans un cours d'eau des Pyrénées centrales. Situé à 1 930 m d'altitude, le ruisseau est enneigé 4 à 5 mois par an ; les températures annuelles varient de 0 °C (hiver) à 17 °C (été). Les larvules éclosent en automne, les adultes émergent 4 années plus tard, dès la fonte des neiges.

Abstract

The life cycle of Pachyleuctra benlocchi (Navas) takes four years in a mountain stream at an altitude of 1 930 m in the central Pyrenees. The stream is covered with snow for four to five months in a year and water temperature ranges from 0 °C in winter to 17 °C in summer. Larvae hatch in autumn and the adults emerge four years later, the emergence period starting at the time when the snow melts.
