Abstract
The order Tricladida is recorded for the first time in Polynesia D. tahitiensis (Paludicola, Dugesiidae). Shows the morphological features found in the subgenus Girardia ; its caryotype 2 n = 16 is closely related to those of its forms. Undoubtedly this species can be considered as a very primitive, with typical asexual reproduction by scissiparity.
