This paper builds on community ecology, evaluating spatial and temporal fluctuations in species composition of the protist ciliates community, in rural and urban streams. Particularly, we show that distinct species composition were found in rural and urban streams, considering the main source of impact of each type of stream. Moreover, temporally, the species composition changed between the two periods of the year, considering the limnological distinctions drove by the temperature and rainfall regime.
