Stéphan Jacquet, Research Director at INRAE, joins the International Journal of Limnology as Editor-in-Chief

We are delighted to welcome Stéphan Jacquet, as Editor-in-Chief to the Annales de Limnologie - International Journal of Limnology. Dr. Jacquet is a Research Director at the Institut National de Recherche pour l'Agriculture, l'Alimentation et l'Environnement (INRAE), France and Chair of the French Association of Limnology (AFL).

Stéphan Jacquet has more than 20 years of research experience focusing on large lake ecology, but also on marine systems and experiments conducted in the field or laboratory. His areas of expertise include microbial food web dynamics, trophic interactions, and plankton ecology. He also has extensive experience in scientific diving.

Dr. Jacquet is very active on a variety of scientific committees and within national and international networks. He works at the Alpine Center for research on trophic networks and limnic ecosystems (CARRTEL) located in Thonon-les-Bains, France. With his team, he seeks to understand how humans and climate change affect ecological structure and function in lake ecosystems and their watersheds, and subsequent effects on ecosystem services and their management.

Stéphan Jacquet will replace Pascal Lafaille who has been Editor-in-Chief of the journal for nine years. We thank Pascal Lafaille for his services to the journal during this time and wish him all the best for the future. Drs Jacquet and Lafaille will work closely together until the end of 2021 to assure a smooth transition.
