1. Alien macrophyte species Elodea nuttallii appeared in Drava River in 2007.
2. Higher temperatures in January and March trigger the invasive behaviour of E. nuttallii.
3. Deposition of silt in the impoundments and warmer years could contribute to the huge expansion of E. nuttallii in the Drava River.
